We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the trip if the water level is not safe
The rail bike portion will be two hours, the river section is up to you. some may paddle a lot and can do the 3 miles in an hour, some may relax and float and take two hours.
The first shuttle bus back to Frostburg Depot will depart 30 minutes after first kayak arrives and subsequent shuttles every 30 – 40 minutes.

We will depart Frostburg at 9:00 am, ( please arrive by 8:30 to check in, use restroom, pack snacks, etc.) The railbike tour will consist of 15 miles, mostly all downhill to the Cumberland Station. We will take one small break, however no bathrooms available till we reach our destination.
Once we reach Canal Place Cumberland Station, you’ll have some time to use the restroom or change into a bathing suit if you wish. Our shuttle bus will then transport you to the river where lunch will be served. Hang out riverside and enjoy a buffet of fresh sandwiches, salads and snacks or take yours to go and bring it with you on the water. Water and Iced Tea will be available. You’re welcome to bring any beverages or snacks along that you brought.
Feel free to leave any small coolers or bags at check in and we will get them on the shuttle for you to pick up in Cumberland. The Shuttle will depart Canal Place by 11:40 and head to the kayak launch and lunch!
The North Branch of the Potomac is a great river to float. Clear water, mostly flat with the occasional ripple to keep things exciting! The first shuttle bus will depart 30 minutes after the first kayaks arrive at the takeout, and then subsequent shuttles will depart every 30 – 40 minutes.
